Dear fathers, brothers and sisters in Christ!
The Russian Orthodox Parish of Meudon, one of the oldest parishes of the Russian immigration, recently celebrated its 80th anniversary.
The weak point has always been the lack of local parish priests for its activities. Today the Lord gives us the opportunity to realize this project which is important to us and meets our needs.
But recently, we learned that a small business premises very close to our church was sold by one of our neighbors, who retired. The owner
well disposed towards us, offers us his local cheaply, given the price of real estate in Meudon and our financial possibilities.
This room, with an area of approximately 27m2, is less than two minutes walk from the church, on the ground floor of a small brick building good quality.
The primary interest of this room would be to develop greater activity in the service of our parish community: *
teach catechism to children
* allow repetitions of songs that are held on Saturdays as a place
* Hospitality and friendly meeting between parishioners after the divine liturgy. *
provide accommodation for our Bishop when he visits and a retreat for the priest celebrant, coming from afar. (Especially during Lent when offices are celebrated twice daily, morning and evening).
Also, with the blessing of our Bishop Michael of Geneva and Western Europe, at our last General Meeting of parishioners it was decided to purchase the premises for the needs of our community.
The purchase price exceeds our financial opportunities that only cover a third of the planned expenditure, which is why we appeal to your generosity. We still have to find 50 000.
